One of the most annoying things that can happen to your countertops is when you get some sticky tape on top of them and simply cannot get it off. There are several things that you can do when this occurs.
Before using any type of residue remover it is important to make sure that you test a small area of your countertop first. You do not want to cause damage to your countertops. Once you know that the agent is safe for your countertops it is time to get to work.
You want to make sure that you work quickly. Think of removing tape like taking of a bandaid. A quick rip is much better. Trying to remove it slowly provides separation and flow, and creates even more stickiness, which causes more issues.
Warm soapy water will typically remove all of the residue from the tape. If this does not work, try applying heat. The heat can melt the adhesive, making it easier to remove.
As you heat up the area, scrape off the rest of the residue with a putty knife. Be gentle as you do not want to scratch your counter.
